The aim is to establish four corner pegs 66yds (23.12m) apart down the length of a pitch and 10ft (3.05) across the line of play for each pitch on the square.

What’s involved

1. Establish a base line down the length of the square, run through the pitch end.

2. Create a right at each corner to create the 4 corners.

Timing of use

March and April.

Effects of incorrect procedure

If the corner pegs are not in the correct position, pitch length will be wrong and pitch marking wrongly positioned.

Equipment needed

Two 100m tapes, pegs, string lines and marking material.
