Pitch Quality Assessment

Aim:

To assess the pitch against the standards set out by the FA.

Method:

Visual inspection or formal assessment using Performance Quality Standards (PQS).

Timing:

Anytime.

Effects of Incorrect Procedure:

• Poor standard pitch/s.
• Loss of play due to poor surface conditions.
• Loss of revenue.
• Poor use of resources.

Equipment:

• Visual.
• Basic Hand tools.
• PQS tables.

Plan your assessment before the end of season so you can plan for the pitch renovation.
