Removal of Posts Flags & Nets

Aim:

To reduce the risk of unauthorized use of the pitch/s.

Method:

• Manually remove nets, fold and store securely.
• Remove flags & posts and store securely.
• Where possible, dismantle and remove posts including portables and store securely.
• Check nets & posts for damage.
• Rope off goalmouths.

Timing:

Directly after match.

Effects of Incorrect Procedure:

• Damage to posts & nets by unauthorized users.
• Excessive wear on the goalmouths.
• Loss of playability.
• Loss of revenue.

Equipment:

• Step ladders
• Spanners/socket
• Rope and metal fence pins

Practical Tips:

• Best completed by 2 – 4 people to ensure it is safely completed.
• If posts cannot be removed, make sure that the nets are not left up.
• If nets are damaged repair ASAP.
