Flags & Post Pads

Aim:

1. Flags used to identify important lines on a pitch.
2. Post Pads are to protect players from damage in collisions with posts and other objects. 

Method:

• Follow sport guidelines post are placed on or near important lines on the surface.
• Pads are attached to posts etc. normally with velcro straps. 

Timing:

Last operation when preparing the surface for play.

Effects of Incorrect Procedure:

• Players not identifying important lines on the surface.
• Players injured in collision with surface furniture.
  

Equipment Selection:

• Flag should be plastic, for area on contact with player fitted with a rubber base for reducing damage to player.
• Pads should be plastic covered form with Velcro straps. 

Practical Tips:

Check sport body guidelines for flag positions, some are on the line and some are 1m away.
